Fair Trade
Fair Trade is an approach to trade that empowers farmers and artisans throughout the world by investing in their farms and communities, upholding sustainable production methods, and developing business skills to compete in the global marketplace.
Fair Trade principles include:
Fair Price – Farmers receive a guaranteed minimum price and an additional premium for certified organic products.
Fair Labor Conditions – Workers enjoy safe working conditions, and living wages.
Forced child labor is prohibited.
Direct Trade – importers purchase directly from producer groups, eliminating unnecessary middlemen and empowering farmers and artisans to compete in the global marketplace.
Environmental Sustainability – Harmful chemicals and GMOs are prohibited in favor of sustainable farming methods that protect farmers’ health and preserve ecosystems for future generations.
We encourage using your spending power to influence the market and help reshape the global economy to one that works for all people and the planet.
New Frontiers will celebrate Fair Trade Month by hosting Fair Trade Sampling and Food Tastings throughout the month.
