Seared Tuna Pepper Steaks recipe

Seared Tuna Pepper Steaks recipe

Ingredients:

  •  4 6- to 7-ounce tuna steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • 1 tablespoon coarsely cracked black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley

Sprinkle tuna steaks on both sides with salt, and black pepper, pressing gently to adhere to steaks. Heat olive oil in large nonstick skillet over high heat. Add tuna steaks and sear until browned outside and just opaque in center, about 3 minutes per side. Remove tuna to a platter and cover loosely with foil to keep warm. To skillet add soy sauce and chicken broth. Reduce heat and simmer until mixture is slightly reduced, scraping up any browned bits in skillet, about 1 minute. Spoon sauce over tuna steaks. Sprinkle with green onions and parsley. Serves 4.

For a complete meal, serve Spinach Avocado Citrus Salad as a starter, and mashed potatoes with wasabi alongside the tuna.
