- 1-1/4 lbs. ground meat of your choice
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 small onion, minced
- 2 tablespoons bell pepper, minced
- 3/4 cup water
- 4 oz. can tomato sauce
- 8 large lettuce leaves, romaine or butter
- 2 large tomatoes chopped
- 1 avocado chopped
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
- 1-1/2 cups salsa, your favorite
Brown ground meat in a large skillet. When the meat is no longer pink, add the dry seasonings and mix well. Add the onion, bell pepper, water and tomato sauce and cover.
Simmer on low for about 20 minutes. Wash and dry the lettuce. Place the meat in the center of one lettuce leaf and top with tomato, avocado, cheese and salsa. You can also always add whatever toppings you like best.
